Elizabeth and Faustina,
Founders of GOT3
OUR STORY
Faustina was diagnosed with Leukemia (ALL) at the age of 5 years. After 2 1/2 years of treatment, she claimed victory over cancer. This year marks her eleventh year cancer free. In second grade, Elizabeth met Faustina. They immediately formed a forever friendship. The summer after Faustina's eighth grade year, she had the idea of creating a nonprofit company that helped teens earn service hours, due to the fact that she required 80 service hours for her eighth grade year. Since she had trouble finding places to volunteer, due to the fact that many places require volunteers to be at least 16 years of age, she wanted to help other teens find places to earn community service hours. She recruited her best friend, Elizabeth, to help form this company (GOT3). On February 20, 2016, one of Faustina's good friends from camp, Joshua Allen, passed away from Rhabdomyosarcoma. This inspired Faustina to change the mission of GOT3, not only because of his passing but, also because of her own experience. Along with helping teens earn the service hours they needed, she wanted to raise awareness and money for Pediatric Cancer Research. As GOT3 continued to grow, Faustina decided to modify the mission of GOT3 to allowing current patients, survivors, and those affected by Pediatric Cancer to help in creating fundraisers. GOT3 hopes to bring teen volunteers and those affected by Pediatric Cancer into a community with one goal; bringing more awareness to Pediatric Cancer Research.
